About Cor Value

Dr. Pappas is the President of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgical Associates and Cor Value. He has been a practicing CT Surgeon for over 30 years. Dr. Pappas is certified in General Surgery and in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery.

Dr. Pappas serves as the Medical Director of the Adult Cardiac Surgery program at Advocate Christ Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, located in Chicago’s south suburbs. He is also an Assistant Professor, Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Rush University, Chicago, and holds academic appointments at the University of Illinois, and Midwestern University College of Health Sciences.

Dr. Pappas is an innovator and was the first surgeon in Illinois to successfully perform mitral valve repair using the da Vinci robotic system in 2003. Dr. Pappas continues to be involved in multiple research studies, presentations, and publications. In addition to his varied leadership roles, Dr. Pappas performs over 400 pump case heart surgeries on an annual basis.

Dr. Antone Tatooles is a board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon with over 25 years of experience in the field of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center, where he has practiced since 2018. Dr. Tatooles specializes in the implantation of mechanical assist devices and the treatment of cardiogenic shock, with a particular interest in advanced heart failure.

Dr. Tatooles has held multiple leadership roles throughout his career, including Division Chief of Adult Cardiac Surgery at Rush University Medical Center and Vice Chief of the Division of Surgical Services at Advocate Christ Medical Center. He has also served as the Director of Mechanical Assist Device and Surgery for Congestive Heart Failure at Advocate Christ Medical Center and the President of Cardiac Surgery Clinical Research Center, Inc.

An esteemed educator, Dr. Tatooles has been honored with the prestigious L. Penfield Faber Teacher of the Year award three times (2019, 2022, 2023) for his exceptional contributions to medical education. His work as a teacher and mentor is recognized by his peers and students alike.

In 2023, Dr. Tatooles was inducted as a member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, reflecting his national recognition in the cardiothoracic surgery community. He continues to be a key figure in shaping the future of cardiothoracic surgery in the region.

In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Tatooles is an aviation medical examiner and a member of the Aerospace Medical Association, demonstrating his broad interest in the intersection of medicine and aviation.

Trish has over 30 years of health system leadership experience in CEO and CSO roles. In those roles Trish was the leader in developing system-wide and hospital-specific strategic plans. In her role as CSO at AMITA, Trish led the strategy and service line operations of the Joint Operating Company between AdventHealth and Ascension. During Trish’s tenure at AMITA, she was involved in the consolidation of 3 health systems into 1, and led a service alignment strategy to optimize the distribution of services across the Chicago market.

Trish also has extensive experience in payer relations, managed care contracting, and value-based care delivery. In her last role, she led a CIN that achieved both top-ten quality rankings for CMS and $54 million in shared savings over two years.

Trish has launched service lines, led service lines, and developed system-wide and service line-specific strategic plans. Since joining CTVSA and Cor Value, Trish has consulted with health systems around the country, developing ambulatory, radiology, and system-wide growth plans.

Candice leads CTVSA’s inpatient and ambulatory clinical operations as well as clinical quality improvement. For CTVSA and Cor Value, Candice plays a critical role in supporting CMS compliance and VAD/Heart Transplant survey preparedness for Joint Commission and DNV program site visits.

Candice excels in intensive care nursing practice. Her bedside nursing work has been focused at Advocate Medical Center in Chicago’s South Suburbs. Advocate Christ is a tertiary care teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Children’s Hospital. Her clinical strengths are derived from working as the assistant clinical manager for Advocate Christ Medical Center’s surgical heart intensive care unit for five years and as a nurse in the heart unit for an additional seven years caring exclusively for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients. Candice continues to work intermittent weekend shifts in the Surgical ICU to maintain her clinical relevance.

Noelle has led clinical teams in capturing and analyzing outcomes data, as well as developing and implementing performance improvement plans for Heart and Vascular service lines. With over 15 years of experience, Noelle is an expert in the use of STS, ACC NCDR, CMS, and financial data to improve performance.

Noelle’s current focus is the group’s business development endeavors, as well as reviewing and improving patient outcomes. Collaborating with her team and their hospital partners, she strives to expand high quality services while staying well aligned with industry benchmarks for excellent care. Noelle also directs the company’s physician recruitment efforts and ensures a smooth transition for new hires.

Tim started in healthcare in 1985 as a respiratory therapist. He has held multiple leadership roles in Ascension and Advocate Health Care. At Advocate as Director of Ambulatory Services, he built and operationalized an on-campus outpatient center and off-campus fitness center. Soon after, he was asked to add Cardiac Catheterization services to the campus. Instead, he proposed, built, and operationalized a complete cardiovascular service line including cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, a 16 bed CVICU with universal bed model and a 26 bed telemetry unit. This was one of only two programs approved by the state of Illinois CON board to add all services at once. He then led the service line as its initial Director of Cardiovascular services.

He is currently the Vice President of Operations with CTVSA and Cor Value and provides the administrative foundation for one of the largest private practice CV surgery groups in Illinois.

Meghan leads CTVSA’s accounting and finance team and oversees Cor Value’s billing and revenue cycle business. As Director of Finance and Accounting, she oversees the financial health of the organization, and handles financial planning and risk management.

Meghan has extensive experience in onboarding new billing companies and identifying areas for process improvement. She excels at streamlining the revenue cycle and optimizing practice finance and operations.
